A 'Château'
on the banks of the Douro

Dehesa de los Canónigos is one of the great historical estates of the Ribera del Duero. Located in Pesquera de Duero, its name refers to the first owner, the Council of the Cathedral of Valladolid, composed of 22 canonic monks.

More than a century of History

In the mid-nineteenth century it changed hands after the confiscation of Mendizábal and it was the Basque businessman Toribio de Lecanda y Campo who bought the estate in 1842. After losing his wife, in 1859 it was transferred to his son Teodosio Lecanda Chaves, a renowned architect who built his house in the image of a Basque farmhouse in honor of his homeland, which today is preserved as a family home.

The grapes come from our own vineyards grown organically.
We prioritize quality over quantity and the maximum expression of the terroir, where the primary material is the protagonist.
